How to Access our Venues

Information about membership cards, keyfobs and wristbands for quicker access to venues

Accessing Glasgow Club Venues

Your Glasgow Club membership can be used across our venues. When you visit, bring your membership card, key fob or RFID wristband so we can identify your account and check you in quickly.

Before you visit

Many activities can be booked in advance using the Glasgow Club app or online booking. At venues with automatic access gates, an eligible booking or gym check-in lets you scan your card or wristband and go straight through without stopping at reception.
If you're using the gym at a venue where check-in is required, you can check in using the Glasgow Club app or ask at reception. See how to check in to the gym.

Membership cards and RFID wristbands

An RFID wristband is a silicone band containing a microchip with a unique code linked to your Glasgow Club membership. It can identify you in the same way as a membership card.
At venues with compatible equipment, an RFID wristband can also be used to:
  • tap through automatic access gates for eligible pre-booked activities
  • lock and unlock RFID-enabled lockers
  • quickly log in to RFID-enabled gym equipment to access your programme, monitor progress and take part in challenges
  • exit the car park at Glasgow Club Gorbals without collecting a code from reception
A membership card or key fob can also be used to identify yourself at reception, and access gates. At automatic gates, present the barcode on your card or key fob to the scanner (rectangular glass) or present your RFID band to the black square reader.

Getting a card or wristband

If you've joined online, ask at reception on your first visit. You can collect a membership card or, where available, an RFID wristband. If you're under 22 and have joined online, remember to bring proof of age on your first visit.
Your first RFID wristband is free if you're a pay-monthly member. Pay As You Go customers can buy one for £2. Membership cards and key fobs are free.
RFID wristbands are currently available at venues with self-service access gates and/or RFID-enabled lockers:
  • Bellahouston
  • Glasgow International Arena
  • Gorbals
  • Kelvin Hall
  • Scotstoun
  • Tollcross

Lost or damaged cards and wristbands

If your card or wristband is lost or damaged, ask at reception. We can issue a replacement membership card free of charge and make the old card or wristband unusable. Replacement RFID wristbands cost £2.

Pay As You Go customers can pay a £2 refundable deposit for an RFID wristband where RFID-enabled lockers are available. Return the wristband at the end of your visit to receive the deposit back.
This type of wristband is only for operating the locker. It isn't linked to your account, so it can't be used for venue access or other membership features.

Can I use my phone to enter the venue?

Not yet. You'll still need your membership card, key fob or RFID wristband to scan at an automatic access gate. You can, however, use the Glasgow Club app to check in for a gym visit before scanning your card or wristband at the gate.
We are gradually upgrading scanners so we can offer members a Digital Pass. This will let you store your member ID in your smartphone's wallet (like a boarding pass or ticket) which you can tap at reception or on the gates.
