Introduction - why you need to check-in

 

NOTE: You won't be able to follow the steps below in our app until this style of access to the gym has been enabled at your chosen venue.

We want to make sure Glasgow Club remains a safe, affordable and friendly club, so it is vital we know all gym users:

  • have paid or hold a valid membership

  • understand safe use of the equipment

  • are not younger than they should be

  • have been briefed on gym etiquette and safety

The old method of tapping a "Gym" button at gates was convenient but doesn't prevent unauthorised access in all cases. We now need customers to check-in first.

When you want to use the gym, you can check-in using our mobile app. Having the app also means you can see if there are any upcoming changes to the gym.

First you'll need to download the Glasgow Club App (or search your phone's app store for 'Glasgow Club'). You'll also need to set a password. If doing this for the first time you'll be prompted for your Member ID which you'll find in the email we sent when you first joined (or ask for it at reception). 

If you don't want to use the app or don't have smartphone you can visit reception.

Here's a quick guide to checking in with the app:

1. Tap "GYM"

Tap the "GYM" button on your chosen venue home screen in the Glasgow Club app.

2. Tap "Check-in"

3. Tap "Gym Sessions"

Tap on "Gym Sessions (density)"

4. Scroll to the first available time

Scroll down to the first available (green) start time in today's (leftmost) column and tap on it. NOTE: You can scan-in up to 30-minutes before and after the session start time.

5. Tap "Book"

Tap the "Book" button to check-in to this session. Don't worry, you can scan-in up to 30-minutes before and 30-minutes after your chosen session start time. 

6. Scan your band or card at the gate

At venues with gates, tap your RFID wristband on the black scanner or present the barcode on your membership card/keyfob to the lit-up screen. The gate will open - enjoy your workout.

If the gate doesn't open:

  • you may have scanned your band or card more than 30 minutes before (or after) the start time of the session you checked-in to. Head to reception or check in again via the app.
  • If you checked in at reception you may need to allow a few seconds for the check-in process to complete and were just too quick. Wait 10 seconds then scan again.
  • You may have forgotten to check-in or there may be another issue with your membership - please visit reception so they can take a look
