Gym Etiquette

Creating a Better Gym Experience for Everyone

At Glasgow Club, we’re proud to be an inclusive and welcoming gym for all ages, including our younger members aged 12 and up. Exercise is fantastic for both physical and mental wellbeing and we want to make sure every member gets the most from their workouts in a positive and supportive environment.

To keep the gym running smoothly and safely for everyone, we’d like to remind everyone of a few important gym etiquette points:

Be mindful of equipment use – Please avoid sitting on machines when not actively using them so others can train efficiently.

Train with purpose – It’s great to enjoy your time at the gym but please be mindful of others by keeping socialising to a minimum on the gym floor. To ensure fair access to equipment, we ask that no more than three people gather at a single workstation.

Respect all members – Everyone should feel comfortable and supported while training, so please be considerate of those around you, including watching language and noise levels! Clean as you go – Please wipe down machines and equipment after use to keep the gym clean and comfortable for everyone.

Be mindful when taking selfies – While it’s great to capture your progress, please be mindful of others around you and avoid catching anyone in the background without their consent.

Social chats – Although we all enjoy catching up with friends, the gym is a shared space where members focus on their workouts, so please keep loud conversations to a minimum.

Our team is always on hand to help and may offer friendly reminders when needed. If we feel younger members would benefit from additional guidance we may ask them to reattend their Fitness Journey appointments to reinforce these key points before continuing to use the gym.

Thank you for being part of Glasgow Club and for helping us create a welcoming and enjoyable space for everyone to train and stay healthy.
